We stumbled on this at #more-243901″ target=”_blank”>ArchDaily, currently our favorite architecture website, and it has set us a-bubble.  We could see moving Ottesjö’s Hus-1 out of that field in Bumfuck, Scandinavia and to a more urban environment with maybe access to Runyon Canyon in Hollywood, or in a pinch with a view of the Manhattan skyline from a disused shipyard in Brooklyn, if they exist any more and haven’t been trampled by Hipsters. (Oh, go home, the lot of you, already.  Portland needs people, too!)

We quote from ArchDaily because we couldn’t bring ourselves to write such dry copy.  Hurts too much:

Hus 1 is an inspiring new house designed and built by Torsten Ottesjö. With double curved surfaces, compact and efficient planning it is a house on the human scale that blends effortlessly into the surrounding nature.

Situated in the unique cultural landscape of the Scandinavian West Coast, Hus 1 reflects and communicates with its surroundings. The natural materials used in the construction have made it a friendly place for both humans and nature for its whole life cycle.
